Static From A Soapbar Pick Up?

    Lately I have been getting alot static coming through my amp, I know its not my cable because I have tried other cables and it still comes through when I don't play.
    I was wondering if it could be my pick up, and if so has anybody else had any problems with soapbars?

    Is the static there all the time, or just when you don't play?

    It sounds like your jack may be loose, or maybe a grounding issue?

    I've had to replace a few jacks before because of crackling/static noise.

    Its only when I don't play, I've also has some issues with my bass harmonizing if its related at all.
