Status Graphite neck for Ray5 anyone tried one?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by lowfrez, Jun 13, 2003.

  1. Hey all,

I just tried the search, didn't really find what i was looking for,

I have a ray5 fretless that'd i'd like to buy a status neck for so i can use it as a backup fretted when i'm not using it as a fretless.

Anyway what's the neck like, how's the sound, and what's the price on these things?

    Thanks in advance,

I don't know the quality on it but... Do you really want to exchange necks back and forth a lot? I somehow see stripped screw holes in the future...

Most graphite necks are installed using threaded inserts (in the graphite). You use bolts instead of screws, so you can pop them in and out without much of a problem. You can do the same with wood necks too.
