Status Hyperactive Pickups

First off.. has anyone had any experience with these pickups as replacement rather than in a Status Bass....I love the Status sound dearly very punchy but not to bright but lotsa growl and Rasp..!!!! mmMMmm

I am just thinking about pickups and tone circuit for my homebrew bass...

I have looked at EMGs Which I am having in my Custom Shuker EMG TC's...want something a bit different..

Is it a silly idea to think about having a Status Soapbar for the neck and a Status MM picup at the bridge?...or is it better to have a jazz style pickup with a MM...to allow for the sweet spot to be positioned correctly?

Also has anyone had experience with Status Pickups without a Status Tone Circuit.. I love Jon Shukers Circuits and was thinkin about using his with the Pickups...

The Bass is made of Black American Walnut with a Flamed Sycamore back

    Maple and Walnut Thru-Neck....

Wanting a modern sound but with a slighty air of vintage...
