STC-3M3 Electronics

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by Lordgout, Oct 16, 2009.

  1. Hey there! I have a Squier P bass and want to upgrade the pickups to the Seymour Duncan SBP-3 pickups but it recommends running them through the STC-3M3 or 3M4 circuitry for the best tone. I have read up on this electronics and they are intended for active basses. Not sure how this works? Do I have to buy this circuitry for the pickups to work in my bass?

Hi do you mean SPB-3 pickups ( 1/4 pounder p bass pickups)
If so you can run them passive ie replace your old p pickups.
Also the STC3M# & 4 are a preamp for the SMB-4 Aor D Music man type of pickups for Stingrays etc
  3. Yeah they are the quarter pounders. Ah cool I can just swap them out! It just confused me when it said on the website that its recommended to use them. But I guess thats for more an active tone?
