Steel Drum VST?

    Little bit of an esoteric request, but can anyone recommend a quality VST plugin for steel drums? I'm using Studio One with Akai MPK mini mkii, either in MPC Essentials or VIP. Alternatively I'd there's a expansion pack for EZDrummer 2, I could use that.

    I could Google but I'm hoping someone here has actually found a decent quality sample set they would recommend.

    If you have IK Sampletank 3 it comes with Steel drums

    Yep, SampleTank has that.

    Also there's this instrument for Pianoteq, but it requires that you buy Pianoteq first, which is at least $100 rn, plus the cost of the instrument itself: Steel Pans by Modartt - Steel Pan

    I have Pianoteq, and it's really cool. But this may be overkill for what you want, I dunno.

    Beyond that, you might as well Google. Search turns up things like this:

    Steelpan - Sonokinetic - Sample libraries and Virtual Instruments

    If you have NI Kontakt or Kontakt Player, this looks like a pretty good deal.

    If you can't download Sampletank or don't have the money you can get SFZ steel drums files and run it using Sforzando.
