D'addario ProSteels (and a few sets of the replaced Prisms I bought at discontinued prices) on all my fretted basses: Yamaha RBX-775 and Fender Jazz Plus V five-strings and Ibanez SR-1206 six-string and RKB-900 four-string.

I think they're great and if you use steels you really owe it to yourself to try at least one set. :D

  3. I use Blue Steels. I like Hi-Beams too. On my wishlist is Prosteels and La Bella Deep Talking Rounds.

    Steels I like:
    LaBella Hard Rockin' Steels
    Ken Smith Tapercores
    Rotosound RS-66
    Dean Markley Superround
DR Lo Riders and Hi Beams
    Sadowsky stainless rounds

    Steels I didn't care for:
    Dean Markley Blue Steels

  5. I've had my first set of pro-steels on now for a month. They are great. IME, they did lose a good portion of their 'sound' within a week but have retained a good sound overall. I expect in another week I will change them out for some new ones.

  6. Fuzzbass, what didn't you like in the Blue Steels? Also, how alike did the Superrounds sound to the Rotosounds? I believe they were meant as an american version of the Roto's.
