I always enjoy seeing the manner in which he holds his basses. Perfect for technique as well as good for his back/body/tendons.
  8. From the most recent show :smug:

Any more pics? I always wanted to try a Ken Smith.... That bass probably balances a lot better than his thumb 6
  10. He stopped using the thumb 6 in '00.

  12. I played one yesterday. Oh my god are those beautiful basses, and they are WONDERFUL to play.
  13. Oh!!
    That hurts, what a bass....
I would love to get one, and I would be curious to hear the sound he's got with it now.

if i recall correctly, he's a pretty well educated (musically) guy- big jazz cat before getting that sweet ($$$) gig. the smith isn't mentioned in his bp article/cover story in the latest issue, but boy it's purty. :bassist:
  15. and what a gig it is. i'd love his job, to be relatively unknown (compared to dave) so you could go outside without getting mobbed, but still make the dough and have the SWEET gig.

how they sound,i think in one Smith in my near future,Smith or MTD...desicions are hard
  17. Lower-mid centric, but very tight and responsive. She'll sound like you want her to sound.

nice news to my,i want my Smith 5 strings for the next year or MTD
  19. Smiths have such a nice tone. One of the best basses if you want a tone that sits in the mix and just grooves.

    That's a beautiful bass.
