Look for blade pickups with the same form factor / dimensions. A lot of pickup manufacuters list the maximum sensing area across the strings. Example of a EMG 35 replacement:

    SGD ND3-35 (EMG-35 size) soapbar

"Dimensions are 3.5" X 1.5" {...} The pickup feature blade pole pieces for any string spacing up to 2.75" (69.85mm)."

Wow, i just went through this 2 weeks ago....

I have the same bass, and I went with an EMG CS35 in the neck and a DC 35 in the bridge and i put in a BTC and wired it for 18V.

I did it all myself and here are some links that helped me.

EMG magnet dimensions and string width recommendation

EMG Pickup rings (I went with black anodized aluminum and they are very nice)

I used a dremel with a sander attachment to widen up the original pickup slots, it only took 5 mins total as there is very little material to remove. I have a solder iron, so i did everything myself. If you don't have one, you can pick one up at harbour freight tools for under $10.

The end result was very much worth it. I love EMG's and I love my new sound with this configuration.

I hope it works out for you and let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Good luck!
