I was thinking about getting one of these basses. I am primarily a jazz player and i was wondering if anybody here has one and plays jazz with it.Things you like/Dont like,Action, tuning, feel, how long does it take to get used to playing it,sound?

  2. I don't understand how the bridge on them allows intonation adjustment

I've used Steinbergers for many years. The Synapse is a very nice bass. It's tone is piano like, clean and precise. Good balance in volume all over. Easy to get used to. It is not a 'warm' or 'big' sound like an Alembic or a Fender. As far as most of your feel questions, you'll have to adjust it to your taste - just about any new bass will need to be setup. One caveat...it took me getting and returning 3 of these till I got one if proper working order. So be persistent if it's not right out of the box. I actually ended up with a 'B' stock model that was the best functioning one, with a slight blemish and a nice discount.

ok thanks but I'm planning on getting a new one, but does anyone have and experience in the ability to play jazz. I have an ibanez 5-string and it is ok but I want a bass that has that low mellow tone setting on it. I would just like it to have the ability to play all genres of music.
