I have two 6x12 cabinets split stereo top 2 Eminence Tonkers wired @ 16 ohm series and bottom is 4 Eminence Man o-wars wired seriesparallel @ 16 also.

Even though the impedence is the same top/bottom Since the wiring and wattage is different would it be wiser to setup one amp to the top 4 tonkers and the other amp to the bottom 8 Man-O-Wars rather than one amp per cab?

    Please help! Thanks

  2. Maybe, possibly. Do you want to run a different type of signal to the top two (like an OD sound)?

Not so much for tone, mostly concerned about speakers getting fried because of the wattage difference.

    Thanks!

  4. Take the lowest speaker power rating and multiply by 6. If the product is much below the rating of the amp then worry some (listen for sounds of speaker distress).

Those are both guitar speakers, are you using them for bass? If so 120 X 6= 720 divide by 2 for bass guitar use = 360 watts per cab.

Using them for guitar, two 120 watt amps.

    Thanks!

  6. Two 120 watt amps from a guitar with those cabs, no worries (except yours and other band member's hearing :D).
