Steve Harris' amp

Hi guys,

I've been obsessed with Steve Harris' tone for years and because he's normally used a custom made head, it's been impossible to get the same amp.

Recently he started using the Orange Stroke 4 but I also saw this picture recently and as well as the Orange, there's also Gallien Kruegers on show. I was wondering if anyone knows if he uses these or if they are just in the picture by coincidence.

Any help would be much appreciated, cheers!

I think he mainly uses those Orange amps as power amps, and mainly with British Lion.
For me whatever power amp he uses, his tone comes mainly from his fingers, his bass, his preamp and the EVM12L speakers.

The easiest way to get this tone is using a sansamp SH1 into whatever amp, Steve uses it as a preamp with British Lion and as a DI box in Maiden.

Sorry don't know for the Gallien Kruegers. Maybe a pic done when he was testing different light and compact gear to tour with British Lion?

Thanks for that! I'm thinking of getting a new amp to try and match the tone but I have that GK so been very curious.

This pic was from another thread on here and he was seen in concert with this set up but just not sure if the GKs are his or the venue's.
