Well, about a week or so ago, me & Pay Kelly (pmkelly) were IMing each other & I asked if he still had the Steve Harris P body & he said "Yeah" :D So what do I do? I BUY IT!!! So now I have this body. What to do, what to do? I'm not really fond of P Bass width necks so I order a AllParts J neck with Binding & inlays like this one...

    <img src="http://warmoth.com/Bass/necks/images/BsBdngNk.jpg">

& I order a 3 ply mint green pickguard & I have a mirrored (regular mirror, not the red Harris one).

So it's gonna have these features:
    • Steve Harris Lake Placid Blue body
    • AllParts neck with binding & Block Inlays
    • Mint green or Mirrored P/G
    • Sadowsky P/J pickups, yes. P/J
    • Schaller BML Tuners
    • Hipshot D Tuner
    • Gotoh 201 Bridge
    • Schaller strap locks

So, what do you guys think?

I might be building it to sell it but since this will be the only P bass in my collection, I might hold on to it for a while.

The Warmoth Koa bass, I'm gonna build & see if I can get anything on eBay.

Not a problem. If you're ever in NYC, maybe you can help me build it for you. :)

  6. Nino, you are a living monument to G.A.S.

  7. I concur, you are what I want to be when I grow up.

hey man.... glad to hear that the body got there ok (I am assuming it did, right?). That cashola that you sent to me immediately got funneled right along to another TB'er for a J Retro, and for another p bass body... I have the disease to build stuff myself!

Well, I guess that limited-edition bass won't be worth much years from now!

I hope you keep all of the original parts! I've left my Harris bass pretty much intact except I replaced the ugly pickguard with a white pearloid one and installed Dunlop straplocks.

  12. Please post pics if you can once you are finished! Sounds very nice. Like to know what you think of the sound of the Sadowsky P-Js, too. Are you going passive or active?

Hey Nino, more pics? Also, what color hardware are you going with? I'm changing my Harris over to black (tuners, etc.)
Also, why the bridge change? Just because?

It's gonna have chrome h/w. I have a Gotoh 201 so That's what's going on it. LOL :) It's not much different than the last pic I supplied except I routed for a J in the bridge position. As soon as it's ready for assembly, I'll put some "In Progress" shots up. :)
