Are you able to run 2 ohm loads with these amps?

    Thanks

In stereo per channel, yes. Not bridged though.

I've never actually run a 2 ohm load... I have run 2.66666 from one side of mine with absolutely no problems. In fact my World 2.1 never breaks a sweat. :)

I've been using Stewart power amps for several years and have never had any problems except for a World 1.2 the smoked because of an internal problem that Stewart could not locate. They replaced that one with a World 1.6 for a $50 upgrade charge.

I do not run my amps into loads lower than 8 ohms because of problems that some folks have had with the amps shutting down on thermal overload. I've run my 1.6 at stupid loud volumes into my 8 ohm 410XLT and it barely gets warm. A friend had his 1.6 shut down when running into a 4 ohm 410XLT.

Another friend has a PA-500 that shuts down when running hard bridged into his Bergantino 310 (5.6 ohms?). He had a fan on it and it still gets too hot.

Hmmm. Do the 1.6 and 2.1 have internal cooling fans?
