I have a world 1.2, great for bass, but I was wondering if anyone has heard the PR-1000, or PR-500 "reference" amps as they pertain to critical stereo listening, monitoring, stereo imaging "staging" etcetera????

thanks, I'm a recovering Audiophile looking for more power to use at home I use and Audio research D200 now.

    thanks again....

I'm not sure I can truly answer your question since I don't have any good reference for comparison. Based on the info available form Stewart's website, the world 1.2 and PR1000 are very close except in the noise floor where the PR1000 is much lower. I think the PR1000 is a very HiFi amp, very crisp and precise. But it's not harsh in any way, it only present you with an accurate reproduction of the initial input. It's much more power then I truly need though!

    hope this helps
