I have a UDP-1a. In fact, that's my unit that Todd has up on the basstasters preamp page. I really like it a lot, and personally I think it is one of the best sounding preamps in that "shootout." That said, my primary use of the UDP-1a has been as a buffering preamp. I initially bought it to use with my Barberra bridge in my upright, but later on in the studio, I found that it also worked wonders on my magnetic pickups (electric basses). It's a great recording preamp, either on its own, or buffering in front of another preamp.

    Thanx!
Do you know a dealer who has this unit?

I know that they are getting scarce, but I bought mine from Sweetwater, and I believe some other TBers have been able to get a UDP-1a through them fairly recently.

    Good luck, Tom.
