My MIM Jazz has a satin finish on the back of the neck. It is a 2000 model.

When you say "satin" do you mean the sticky kind or the smooth kind?

  5. My 95 MIM has a sort of semigloss finish to it. When I first got it I thought it was a bit "sticky". I have either gotten used to it or it has worn away, although it doesn't look worn.
It did keep me from hooking my thumb over the neck though , cause the I felt the palm of my hand would "catch" on the finish.
