Stiff Cord Cure

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by LizardKing3, Sep 17, 2005.

  1. I just bought some new cables from my local music store (Cheap Fender "California Cables"). They're not bad, but #$%@ are they stiff. It's hard to even get them to stay uncoiled, so I ask you; What is your cure for a stiff cord? (*Prepares for perverted jokes*)

I'm sitting here bending and twisting it, trying to loosen it up, but it doesn't seem to be working very well.

Turn of the porn... usually helps. Think about baseball?

    Heh. Ball.

I'd just uncoil them and set something on each end to keep it straight for a while. or just use them normally and they'll soften over time.
  3. Step on them. Or put 'em in your mouth, maybe the heat will do something. I'd just keep twisting and mashing them together.

I'd suggest hot water... But then again, I'm and idiot.

Maybe lay them in the sun for a day, let 'em heat up and soften up a bit. Then let 'em cool down (i.e., after the sun is no longer beating on them) while they're layed straight out. Finally, wind 'em up (big, loose loops) after they're cool, in the evening.

    I'm just guessin'.
