Time to thin the Stingray herd a bit!

A translucent orange Stingray 4, with matching headstock. I believe this is either a 2003 or 2004 model. Black pearl pick guard. Maple neck and fingerboard.

This bass also has a Basslines (alnico) pickup installed (I don't have the original - I got it this way).

This Ray is basically in MINT condition, with the only marks being some SLIGHT (only visible in bright light with the bass 6 inches from your face) fingernail-type scratches just above the pickguard. If I didn't bring these up, you'd probably never spot them (they are that insignificant!).

NO wear or discolorization on the neck.

Comes in an SKB molded case (that's in excellent condition).

I'd keep her if I didn't have such GAS pains for some new stuff! She's the newest Ray in the group, so the easiest to let go!

REVISED PRICE - $800 shipped. Paypal okay!

  3. Nice bass! I have a few questions:

    1) How much does it weigh?
    2) What neck finish does it have - natural or oiled?
    3) What is its neck profile, flat or chunky?

    Thanks!

    Tom

    1. weight: I'll have to weight it later, but I would consider it an "average" weight Stingray

    2. the neck finish is natural (no oil on the neck)

    3. I wouldn't call the neck "chunky." It seems to be of the same thickness and neck radius of my other Stingrays.

    It's a GREAT playing bass!

If the serial number is E3XX27 then it's 10 lbs and the nut is 1-5/8. Nice bass if it's the same one I had...

I thought I recognized it! There aren't that many late 2 bands out there and this one sounds great - if it had been a bit lighter I would have kept it.

that trans orange is such a beautiful finish... :bassist:

  9. I remember almost pulling the trigger when Brad had it up for sale previously but I decided at that time that 10 lbs. was heavier than I'd like. Guess I'll have to sit this one out... Dang.

Good luck with the sale, Bass-only!

I put the Stingray on the bathroom scale and it's coming out to 9 pounds.

I double-checked that it was set right to ZERO before placing the bass on the scale.

Okay, it's a cheap scale, but as far as I know, it's accurate. :)

    I hope this helps!

Oh if only I had money! I would be on this like a shot. Absolutely beautiful bass. It's my birthday in under 2 weeks. Maybe I can persuade my Dad :p

Price dropped to $800 + shipping. Paypal users, please figure an extra $15.

This is the lowest I can go. I really don't mind keeping her! :bassist:

Better way to do it is weigh yourself, then pick up the bass and weigh both of you.

    Good idea!

I think I'll bring it in to work tomorrow and put it on the digital scale (to make sure!).

  17. While I keep coming back to ogle this 'Ray, I don't think I'll be in a position to move on it before I leave for vacation. The very least I could do is provide a BUMP!
