Stingray 5 fretless

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by nate 0 jt, May 31, 2001.

  1. Tell me what you know please, are they good, bad, what?

I am currently looking for a fretless 5 so if you have any ideas, let me know. Thanks

  2. Sure, they are great basses. Though i'm sure you'll find that many of us will tell you that they are like a one trick pony. They basically reproduce the same sound no all the time. There really isn't much you can do to the sound by tweaking the settings. But don't get me wrong, they are definitely great basses.

If you want a better fretless, go with Pedulla.

Yeah, if you can afford a Pedulla, they are more versatile, and better made too.

So is the Zon Sonus Custom, or the discontinued Legacy Standard. Best fretlesses I have ever played at any price.

And in the price range of the Stingray, check out the Peavey Cirrus fretless 5. Great bass for the price, better than the Stingray IMHO, and much more versatile.

The Stingray is a good one too, though.

Check them all out, and make the decision for yourself.
  6. what is the stingray IMHO? where can i get some info of that on the internet? Thanks

IMHO = In My Honest Opinion.
There's a lot of terms used on TB that you'll have to get used to.

I agree, Pedulla and Music Man are two different companies. If you're spending that kind of money, you're most definatly not going to have many (or any) problems with construction. I suggest whichever you like more.
