    20th Anniversary 5er that is. :D

    sr5rug.

    sr5case.

Sounds like a StingRay, but a little more subdued. Feels like mmmmmmmmmmagic. I'll need to do my own special setup in a few days, but with only 10 minutes of playing time I'm very satisfied, and I'm extremely picky when it comes to more-than-4 basses.

It's just a touch over 10 lbs., but I'm so spoiled by my 7 lb. Lull that it seems heavy, haha. My first bass was 15 lbs. so don't worry, I've paid my dues. :D

This is my 3rd EBMM bass, the second of which I only sold because fretless and I disagree with one another. This one, like my Sterling, is definitely a keeper.

Thanks to everyone at Ernie Ball and Bass Central. Cheers. :bassist:

I have a crappy gig tomorrow and the one thing that makes me smile is thinking I have my 20th to play.

I sat for an hour last night, playing a 'regular' SR4 and then switched to the 20th. As punchy as that SR4 is, the 20th just went over and above and way beyond.

Can't we form a club now?

(You haven't tapped that bass, have you?)

Nah, the woman came home shortly after it was delivered so I didn't have a chance to. Oh... oh you mean... ah. Well, I did about 3 tap harmonics but that's it. :smug:

I would totally join that club by the way.

I'll get some sound clips up tonight most likely, I'll do some comparisons with my Sterling.

It's not as aggressive as the usual StingRay tone, but it is similar. Take the super boingboing sound and add a layer of beautiful, luscious, pillowy hooters on top, and that's about right. It also really sings, harmonics are very clear and defined.

I need to adjust the truss rod a little bit but I don't want to yet, when it arrived it had been sitting in a UPS truck all day and was literally hot to the touch. So I'll let it settle first I suppose.

Thanks soooo much. Great playing by the way. Also, were those the stock Slinkies that were on the bass?

I'm trying to compare as much as I can to my normal SR5. It seems initially that the 20th AV is a little more bassy/low middy. Sounds more like a Pre-EB Stingray to me. IMHO.

    Cheers, and aye, stock strings.

I'd say your bassy/low middy analysis is spot on. I've never played a pre-EB to compare though. :D
