I've been in the market for a new (to me) SR5 but the prices I see them go for seem to be all over the board.. What effects the price besides condition? Do certain colors go for more cash than others? My main choice would be a black with maple sr5 (1 pickup) anyone know what would be a good price to pay?

    thanks guys

$800 in excellent condition. Matching headstock or piezo could kick it up a little.

My opinion is more in the 850 range for a decent, nothing-special Stingray 5. Odd, rare, discontinued colors can kick it up a bit, as can the addition of piezos.

I think we're seeing a general increase in used prices over the board. My standard answer for years has been 850, but I see a lot more of them going for 900 plus now.

yeah im looking at used stingrays right now too, once you get up around the 900 mark you might as well start looking at new ones. when i get my 'ray its gonna see alot of stage time so i dont really mind if its already a little banged up. the rough ones can go as low as 600$ (still playable obviously)

for a sr5 , you are definitely looking at $800-$1000 used, depending on condition.

factors that increase cost: HS or HH, piezo, matching headstock, rare color.

Used Fenders and Stingrays tend to sell for around half of retail price. You can have a look at MM retail prices here:

The recent retail price increase for MM should allow an increase for used prices, and I believe it is starting to.

$800-$950...I won't pay over $1000 no matter the model, just my personal limit.

If it's a limited edition color or a BFR (Ball Family Reserve) model, then it will be more.
