I dropped into a small local music store today and found a beautiful Stingray5 hanginig on the wall. Black sparkle, matt black pickguard, maple fretboard etc.

Hadn't played one before so I thought I'd give it a go. WOW what a great sounding bass! I love the way it sounds when you dig in. Beautiful fat sound on the low notes with added sparkle on the highs. What really cheeses me off though is that it had a 25% discount on it but I've just bought a locally made five string for a similar price. I'm sure my wife would kill me if I bought this aswell:(

What to do, what to do?

I guess I could always try to justify it to her by saying it has a mable fretboard where as my recent acquisition has a rosewood one. Or I could maybe defret my current bass and have a fivestring fretless?

Oh well, I'll have to stew on it for a while

    Love that Stingray5 though!!!!!!

well don't stew on it so long or someone else will pick it up and you will regret it. stingrays are great basses.
