This (heavily modified) Fender Mustang bass was stolen from a Bekins storage facility in South San Francisco during the mid to late 1970's.
It's difficult to see the details in these photos, but it's a first-run 1966 model with lollipop tuners and a "Fender" logo on the headstock. (not a "Mustang Bass" decal).
The original candy apple red finish and white racing stripes were stripped, then a Jazz pickup, Strat input jack and 3-way toggle were added.
To post this as "Long Shot" is putting it mildly since it hasn't surfaced anywhere in almost 50 years, but I'd give anything to get this back into my possession.
Would pay a price for it with no questions asked. Please pass this along and/ or tag anyone that might have seen it or have a clue to it's whereabouts.
