Stolen Bass

  1. I just received this email today. I think TB is a good venue to post these type of things. If it should be in another forum, would Kris Kringle or Don-of-HigDon move it. The text of the email follows;

    Dear fellow bassists/Cornish friends,
    One of our stellar senior bass students at Cornish, Sabu Miyata, had his
    upright bass stolen yesterday from his car in downtown Seattle. If you
    a bass person, please spread the word - it's a Roth (I believe), either
    a hybrid (carved top, ply sides and back) or a wood bass, reddish
    finish, and well worn on the top. He had a black vinyl bag and a German
    bow. No serial number or other ID on it. Chances are slim of finding
    it here in Seattle, but these kind of thieves aren't usually 'Rhoades
    Scholars' either.

    We are starting a collection of donations in the music office to help
    Sabu buy/rent a bass, as he has no insurance to cover the loss. If you
    are interested, stop by or send what you can to:

    Cornish College of the Arts
    c/o Music Office
    Miyata bass fund

    Sabu is preparing for his Senior Recital in March, and this will really
    help a very talented student.
