Hi, I'm in the market for a good, solid stompbox tuner. Basically, I need it for standard tuning, drop-D tuning, and (rarely) for flat tuning. It needs to have really bright LEDs for tuning on stage, it must allow for silent tuning, has to be built tough, etc. I can't try one out (it will be a Christmas present) so I need your opinions on the following tuners: Korg DT-10: or... Boss TU-2: Keep in mind that the Korg is slightly cheaper than the Boss. Any help is greatly appreciated. Graeme
I guess it will depend on what you feel the BOSS brings to the table for $10 more. IMHO, they are equal in accuracy, speed and reliability.
I would spend the $180 for a Peterson pedal tuner. It does everything you want, and the accuracy in tuning will change your life...maybe.
Does it dispense $20 bills while giving the owner oral sex, a foot massage and wireless internet with free access to all porn sites and work as a cable box for HBO?
The Boss TU 2 is pretty much the standard. I can't see getting anything else (other than a Petersen, but that's quite a bit more cash, and A LOT of bells and whistles.)
I would go for the Korg as their tuners are well regarded and I have heard problems with the TU2 becoming microphonic. We know which is the better looking too
+1... They are equal in all aspects really apart from price and sexiness...The Korg wins the sexy category hands down ...Just looks so much more appealing, IMO, which is why I went for it.
Does the Korg also act as a power supply as the Boss does...hence you can chain your other effects from the TU-2
The Boss DOES NOT act as a power supply. .... Okay it ACTS like one but it is NOT. It cannot even power itself.
