Hi everybody! No screamers, shouters, growlers, we're going to be looking for someone that can actually sing. I can't sing for ****, neither can our drummer so it looks like we're going search for a new person. I'm against bringing in another person, so is our drummer but there's really not much we can do about it. It's also been suggested that we take a break from playing shows while the search happens - which is just a bad idea for so many reasons - especially with touring season starting up again. It's beyond my control - part of the reason I'm looking to start another project.
I don't know anyone to help you, but in regards to the DIY show thing, hand warmers are an awesome thing to have and something that never leaves my tour bag. Also, a big, bright, industrial spotlight or two gives you both heat and cool mood lighting.
You can buy bulk hand warmers online, sell those at your cold ass merch table and be a hero raking in the dough.
****, that's a good idea - would never have thought of that. I think we still have half a box of those at the house somewhere.
Well I just had a job interview via video conference. Not sure I would take the position, but I think it went really well.
Been curious as a soon to graduate what I need to make to not be homeless in my area. Did a living wage calculator and thanks to my food costs and rent I'm like around 17,000 a year to live and pay for everything.
First rule of xxxxshow: play first and get the hell out of xxxxshow... Button down shirt and basketball shorts?
Speaking of singing anyone hear the new The Wounded Kings stuff yet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diOaWezEJTs Sharie is so awesome. Definitely one of my favorite female doom vocalists.
Getting all the nitty gritty visual stuff hashed out with Nick for the 300W Dunwich head. Whoever asked about it at the end of the last thread (Sartori?)...It's a 4x KT88 power section, with Hiwatt style transformers and Traynor/Marshall style phase inverter. I'm spacing on the preamp design at the moment, because we discussed all the details a while ago. It's going to be gain-bass-treb-mid-mid freq, slave input if I want to use it as a power amp, and a master volume. Master volume is in case I want to also use it with guitar from time to time and want more power tube crunch. For the most part it's going to be used as a mostly clean pedal platform. I'm spacing on a lot of the details at the moment, so many little mods and mixing and matching circuit ideas discussed over a long period of time, mostly last year. Hopefully the man himself will chime in.
So that Ibanez Bass Tube Screamer I picked up over the weekend had a faulty footswitch. It would only work 60% of the time. So it's been returned for a refund. It was fun, but I guess it's OK, I really didn't need it.
