    I’m traveling to NYC in a few weeks and am wondering what the best shops are for basses and bass amps in the city. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Hoping to test out some 5-strings and Class D heads.

    You might want to check out Larry Hartke's bass lounge inside Sam Ash on 34th Street. Not sure about the amps but a good selection of basses.

    .. word on the street is that shop has been renamed "Sandi and Wolfi’s Hartke 34th Street Bass Lounge"... :)
