The amp I was using for a jazz rehearsal today got really quiet all of a sudden. :meh: There was a little bit of crackling sound too. I slapped the strings a few times and the volume came back.

I was playing a Yamaha TRB1006 (active) through an old Kustom rig. If I remember correctly, it has a 100w head and a 15" cabinet. It's not my amp. I just use it because it's there.

Here's an image I found of the rig:

I had the same thing happen to me a long time ago when I played a MM through a Hartke rig.

    Any thoughts?

Does the head have a headphone output that disconnects the speaker automatically? or does it have an effects loop?

try cleaning those connections or put a 1/4 plug in and out a few times and see if that helps...

Check your cable. It may be going bad. Also check your battery. Cleaning the connections will also help!

Judging by the age of that amp, try smacking the head next time the volume cuts out. If it returns to normal or makes a staticy sound, the circuit board may be cracked or a solder joint on the circuit board is bad
