Strange delay problem

    I shipped a boss DD-3 recently and upon receipt apparently only the hold setting is working. Has anyone ever heard of an issue like this where the normal delay modes don't work but the hold setting does? Bypassed signal is apparently working as well. It was working fine when I shipped it so I'm assuming it was damaged during shipping. Any idea what the problem could be?

    Finger trouble?

    Otherwise, perhaps the mode knob has dropped a connection or become faulty.

    finger trouble? I checked the mode selector all the wires were still connected. Any other ideas?

    Well, finger trouble is techo-speak for "the user doesn't know how to operate the equipment." No offence, but quite often it is a simple oversight. I assume you now have it back from wherever you shipped it too and the description of the fault is accurate?

    It sounds odd - I can't imagine why one mode would work when the others don't, digital effects are usually either go or no go.

    Yeah the pedal is definitely acting strange the hold mode functions fine however the other settings just have the clean signal. check light doesn't turn on etc.

    Falling back to first principles - tried a fresh battery or a power supply?

    i had a guy give me a pedal claiming the same symptoms but it turns out he just didn't know how to use it as everything was working perfectly.

    yeah im running it off the same power supply that works for my other pedals and this one before it was shipped (tried batteries too). I popped it open again, all wires are connected and im assuming the delay chip is fine since im getting the delay effect when it is on the hold mode. I cant for the life of me figure out the problem!
