Strap for combatting neck dive???

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by nowontonsforme, Jan 9, 2006.

  1. I just recently purchased an MTD Saratoga 5. LOVE the bass, my only complaint so far is that it's pretty neck heavy and has a tendency to dive. Is there some sort of grippier strap anyone could recommend or any other ways to battle this problem? thanks!

Broad leather straps tend to do the trick.

I agree. I have an ASAT (notorius for neck dive) and I found a 3 1/2" padded strap really helps out.

If its really bad you can also move the peg to a different location, which can really help out on certain basses.

I use a Levy's leather with the suede backing and it stays wherever I put it. My J with the Moses neck dives a bit (basswood body) and the suede makes it very manageable.

The wet suit foam material on the Comfort Strap helps to avoid slippage.
