Into my 3rd set Saturday night, the amp was still on but I wasn't getting any sound. After about a minute or so, I was about to go to my backup amp and the sound came back. I have been using this amp for awhile but have never had a problem. Has anyone had this problem or know what might have caused it?
Was there an ex girlfriend in the audience.... Then it was VOODOO man.... Tomorrow a chickenhead on the doorstep....
Perhaps it went into protect mode. What kind of load were you driving and at what volume? Active or passive bass?
i've run mine ALOT louder than that for hours on end at gigs and it's never shut down so i'd like to know what caused it to go into its protect mode on your's.
Really. I would have never guessed that. I will turn it up and just control the volume from the instrument. Thanks for the help.
Check the speakers and cable. It was protecting itself from something, possible intermittent short? It's also been said the smps/class D stuff doesn't deal all that well with low voltage condition sometimes. The how's and why's are a bit beyond me, but what was the power like at the club? Knob settings don't mean much, especially with a hot bass.
He was being flippant. This isn't the cure. Make sure you don't have an intermittent short in your speaker cable.
That is incorrect. The mark bass cab is 8 ohm rated at 600 watts. The Streamliner 900 gives 600 watts at 8 ohm. That is about as ideal as you want. Setting the amp as described should never have an issue with shutdown by setting it too low. Besides, there is no such thing as under-powering speakers, this is not one of those threads...please.
I never like reading about issues with our gear, and this is the first time I have heard about this happening. Please check the cables, are you using speakon connectors? I had some a while back that went in/out depending on the angle of the dangle from the back of the cab. Of course if you continue to have this problem contact us or PM me and we will get the issue resolved.
