Stress!!

  1. Wife and I are having trouble making ends meet. Those who are married know how this can be tough to figure out. Where to save a few bucks, what to do about getting through the bills, etc. Tough on a relationship, too.

Band is re-gearing – trying to find the right replacement drummer, trying to replace the gear (subs, lights, some electronics, etc) that the last drummer provided, trying to accommodate all bandmember’s etc. is getting to me.

Job is going crazy, I’ve got plenty to do but I’m being cross trained to take on additional responsibility (I don’t mind the work). The problem is that I’m willing to work overtime to avoid getting behind, but they don’t want to pay it. No OT allowed.

My whole life is spent trying to stuff 10 pounds of shiite into a 5 pound bag.

Just venting and if anyone has advice and perspective, that’s cool.

  2. Wow Josh, thanks.

We keep track of the bills but not the other expenses, that sounds like something we need to do!

    ;)

Wow is an understatement! Great post, Josh. This is the kind of post that makes OT worthwhile.

  4. if you have a cellphone cut that unless you need it for bussines. sell gear? save some money by cutting cable turning off lights. and a tough one no air conditioning can save you some bucks. its amazing to see all the little things add up.

  5. Josh hit the "big ones" right on the mark. If you are investing for retirement, try to keep doing that at some level.

My wife got laid off right after we got married. We learned to cut out the “entertainment" part of our budget pretty quickly. Keep plugging away, it will get better.

Taking a nice walk with each other on a nice day is always free.

  6. Some days, just hanging out with my wife and son is a great escape from the stress....

  7. I agree completley with the "Don't eat out statement"

This is where I can spend tons of money. It also really helps to track everything you buy. It's scary to find out how much money is going to Burger King.

  8. Mmmmm... restaruant food, fast food, take out food, delivery food :D :D

    Paying for it

Yes, that is a good point!! A can of soup and a grilled cheese, prepared at home, cost about 1/10 of what one would spend on an average restaurant meal.

Well, things are progressing on all fronts and once again I thank all of you for advice & info.

When tight for cash, or just trying to save a little more.

    Rice is your friend. :D
