String Choices For Piezo/Magnetic Pick-ups?

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by Jay Terrien, Apr 19, 2005.

  1. Hi,

Can any of you recommend some cool strings to check out that will sound great on my Parker 5 fretted bass, which has two magnetic pickups and piezo elements in the bridge?

I will be tuning this bass Low B, Tenor A, D, G, C, so, I guess I will have to buy a 6 string set and abort the low E string.

I am looking for a unique acoustic guitar sound, and hopefully, there are some strings out there that sound GREAT for fingerpicking, harmonics, crazy tunings, etc. I was thinking about getting some TI Acousticores, but I think that those will only be cool when the piezo system is on, as they don't respond to the magnetic elements of my pickups due to their construction.

Options, places to buy? Let me know at jay@grasstain.com
