I recently read that your "5 String" is tuned E-A-D-G-C. May I ask what gauge strings you use.?

My "5" is strung .045-.125 & I am leary of just changing the tuning and expecting optimum results. I would rather not sell my 5 'er ... but it's not getting much use currently.

    Many Thanks,

I use, exclusively Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Rounds. They only have 1 guage as they design mostly around having even string tension as opposed to some arbitrary light, med light, med and heavy. They tend to be very small guaged strings but I do love them. I use a standard 4 string set with a single high C from a 6 string set. The guages are .029, .043, .051, .068, .089 (C to E)
