string help

    I need some punchy, bouncy, and somewhat bright strings for my thumb 4 BO. Also, they need to last more than 1 or 2 months. Any suggestions? I play funk, jazz, slap, rock, etc. Thanks.

    I suggest looking for steel roundwounds. I like a hex core (like the TI's, go figure) and carbon steel construction. Don't look for nickel to get you there, although nickel plated steel can work. The Boomers are a bright set, as are Rotosound (I forget the name) and TI's Powerbass, etc. These will give you the punch and nice mids.

    Do you use any effects? Do you want to hear more distortion or more even-ordered harmonics?
