String ID, Please

    These are on a student's 1/4 size rental from a local music. The bass is an Englehardt, the strings sound pretty good, just want to know what they are.

    They could be D'Addario Preludes. Do the pegbox silks conform to the D'Addario pattern? The ball ends?

    Jake, I don't know what the D'Addario pattern is. I found pictures at Shar Music - seems to match the picture I took. I'll get a chance to look at the bass again later today if you can give me a clue what to look for.

    If that's what they are, the price is certainly right. I was considering a set of D'Addario Orchestral strings for this 1/4 size bass - I have one that's nearly identical.

  4. Silk looks rough for Preludes.
    I have a set of regular lenght Preludes, and I don't think that's what they are.
    My guess is cheap chinese strings.
