string mutes

    does any one have a string mute template for a 62 jazz reissue??? i have mutes but no template

  4. not that kind of mute, he means the kind that you screw into the body, between the bridge pu and the bridge.

    I've seen mutes on a sterling at GC, the guy who was helping me said that if you raise them up a little * I dont remeber exactly what he said * That you can get it to sound like an upright bass almost.

    I dont know what your asking so I figured I would just chime in.

    yes i already have the mutes i just need the templaten to mount them to my bass, like HERE the piece of paper that shows where to drill

    I would be very surprised if such a template exists. Have you tried Stew/Mac?
    It's kinda funny, everyone I've ever known with an old Jazz has removed the mutes. Good luck.
