I ve installed a new set of strings (d'addario) about two month ago and one of them broke (the A). Do they usually break so fast or is something wrong with my bass (its pretty cheap) or how i installed them?

it isn't normal. I use d'addario and no break strings. Have a look on your bridge, perhaps the part on which your string push (sorry don't find the correct word :meh: ) is sharped. You just have to change it, or re-rouch it with abrasive tools. :)

same thing happened to me last night...haven't broke a bass string for almost 15 years, and on Saturday night in the middle of a song at a gig, my d'addario A string broke...no problems with the bridge or anything, nor burrs, etc. No explanation at all. I'm not impressed, and will be switching string companies for sure.
