I have a Yamaha TRBX 204 that I just received a few days ago, and everything is great. However, there is a problem when I fret the 8th fret of the E string. When I play this 8th fret, the string rattles on the 7th fret. Its not a standard string buzz. Instead, it goes crazy and rattles against the fret and sounds very strange.

Not unusual. And you have a couple of options to deal with it. First check that you have proper relief in the neck. If that's OK, your nut may be a little low on the E string. Try putting a tiny slip if paper under the string on the nut and see if the problem goes away. Or the third option is what I do - mute the string behind where you fret it.

Thanks! I made some relief adjustments and it went away!

Had a similar problem once, thought it through and figured the neck must bow slightly. Glad it worked out
