on my GL L2500 the b string never fits through the body. Im thinking of making the whole bigger, but want to know the best way to go about it.

Is it getting stuck in the bushing? And, have you tried lighter gauge strings?
  3. Next chance, try sliding the string in through the top of the bridge and see if it fits. As Kronos mentioned, it could be the ferrule/bushing. But you would want to know this before attempting any sort of fix.
Is it the string getting stuck, or just the ball-end?

How hard would that be to fix? If you're deadset on using that gauge string, you might either have to drill for a larger ferrule, or remove the existing one and drill it out larger if it's wide enough to do that.

I don't think I'd want to mod a nice bass like this unless absolutely necessary. I think I would try a lighter string, or ask G&L what they recommend.
