Stringing convention

    Ive always wondered what would happen if instead of stringing your bass to fourths (going up), you strung it to fifths (going up) or some other interval. If you strung it to 5ths, wouldnt you be trained to move your hand a lot more around the neck (making you play more openly, instead of in one position) and youd have a better range. Does anyone have any ideas or experience? I think its a pretty interesting notion, at least.

    People have done it. Need custom string sets. More notes in one position.
