I just got a Carvin 5-string fretless (XB75), with 35 1/4" scale, and thru-body bridge. Looking to try some flat or tapewound strings for smoother feel, warmer tone, and less fingerboard wear. Tried some Rotosound trubass 88's, however, the strings didn't have enough usable length for the finished part of the string to reach the nut. Does anyone have suggestions on strings that might be suited for the 35" scale and thru-body bridge?
