Strings for a through body Lakland Fretless?

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by Big Benner, Sep 28, 2004.

  1. Hey guys,

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did do a search but didn't come up with something specific to me.

I'm looking to get new strings to string my Lakland 5 string fretless THROUGH THE BODY. I'm sort of looking for flatwounds but not for sure.

I've asked around some of the large music stores but everybody seems speechless when I start talking about extra long scales.

Can you please give me some suggestions, the more the better in case the stores around here don't have them.

I find that the Music stores here in Ottawa carry a very poor selection of bass strings. Usually the only flatwounds they carry are chromes (.045-.100).

I have given up and buy my strings online. I have had good luck with both http://bassguitarstrings.us/ and http://juststrings.com/. Even with the exchange rate, they are usually the same price or cheaper than purchasing locally.

You have to wait a week or so though :(
