Recently I noticed some fretwear developing on my P-bass. I ordered some TI Jazz Flats since I'd been wanting to try them anyway, but I don't think I'm going to dig 'em. It's been about a week and they still feel and sound dinky and thin. I'll probably give them some more time, but I used to play .05- .105 D'Addario rounds. I tried Rotosound 77 flats on my backup bass and like the tone, but hate the high tension feel. What strings could I use that'll still sound "full", but be easier on my frets?

You could try tape wounds. They will never tear your frets. They have a tone very different from rounds and flats and aren't for everyone. They might work for you though. Hope this helps.
