Strings for Musicman Stingrays.

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by Michael Jewels, Jan 17, 2002.

  1. I just bought a Stingray a little over a month ago, and love it to death.(who wouldn't?) Anyway, when you register your bass with Ernie Ball, they send you a free set of slinkys, and they did. So, my question is: Which strings do you think sound best on a 'Ray. I've tried a lot of different brands,(on my other basses) but, I wanted to hear from some Stingray owners before I put the slinkys on. BTW, 'Rays come from the factory with slinkys, don't they? If possible, tell why you like the stings you recommend.

    Thanks a lot.

The Slinky's they ship with and Elixer Nanos because they last a long time and bring out the top-end very well. Good for slapping and fingerstyle, alike.

I like the Fender 9050M flats I put on my Sterling.
