What is a good brand/type of string to use for slapping? My main problem is that when I slap the d and g strings I hardly get any sound out. Should I get a heaver gauge or are other brands better for this? Thanks.

p.s. Right now I have medium ghs boomers. I loved the sound of them when i first put them on but they lost it in about 2 weeks. Is there a brand that has the same type of sound but lasts longer?
  2. Nickel GHS Boomers go flat real fast.

    Try a Stainless Steel String.

*For Slapping I use Warwick Black Label.
  3. Ernie Ball Slinky's 2836 ( .45 - .130 ) are nice for slapping & metal, they have real good low ( and i mean LOW ! ) and nice mids + highs, perfect for slapping :D
  4. DR Marcus Miller Fatbeams have the best slap sound of any strings I've tried. D'Addarrio Prisms sound pretty nice as well.

GHS bass boomers are great for slap + Flea uses 'em but I HATED them so I switched back to ernie ball cuz I use pick or fingers mostly.
