Strung up my MIA J V Standard last night & the .130 Cobalt string through or top load hits the spring on the saddle & has to divert off to the side.

Will the tone, sustain suffer as a result?

I could leave it or I could just put the Cobalts on another bass. The strings would be bent from the jazz after the saddles on my other bass though because they are top load, would they straighten out & be fine?

Ill use a tapered b with dean markley helix strings next time.
