    Hi folks,

I'm currently in search of strings (5-string set).
I want them to have the typical roundwound piano-ring, but would like them to have the smoothest touch as possible.
Many roundwounds I had were to "harsh" for fingers.
Which brand and model would you recommend ?
    Many thanks !

  3. Definitely go for nickle strings. Maybe DR Sunbeams. They have a good piano-like tone, but also some warmth. They're roundwound so if that's still too harsh, you try out some of the various compromises between roundwounds and flatwounds like ground wounds or half rounds (discontiniued?).

My best advice though, would be to pick the string with the tone that suits you the best, and then just letting your fingers getting used to them. It will happen sooner or later. Or perhaps you could experiment with some Fast Fret or something like it, that makes the strings feel smoother.

    Good luck.
