Strings that sound like peaveys

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by dudemeister, May 22, 2002.

  1. I bought my Peavey Cirrus new and got the peavey strings with it. Does anybody know what these strings are called and if there are any other strings that sound like these? I love the sound and longevity (or what it's called).

    Thanks!

The Cirrus is sold with it's own line of strings of the same name, Cirrus. You can get them from your Peavey dealer. I've got a Cirrus 5 bubinga/walnut and I use D'Addario 'Slowound' strings. I really like them very much and to my ears there are some similarities to the Cirrus strings. Both are nickels. I'm not sure what the string gauge is for the Cirrus strings. My set of Slowounds are .45 .65 .80 .100 .130. I hope this helps a little. You will need the super long scale if you decide to try them. :)
