i have a galveston blue acoustic bass with bronze strings. i've had it for a while now and just started playing it a lot when i realized the strings are too high off the fretboard. can someone tell me how to fix this? i'm not big on redoing basses so i wouldn't know

    So Cal
look down the neck of your bass. Tell us if there's a bow to it.

by the way, this should be in setup.
  4. Your strings can never be to high when playing ABG, the higher the better. The higher the string = Greater volume. However if you can't cope with the pressure on your fingers use an allen key on the truss rod and turn clock wise to lower the action, don't go mad just small increments. Also lowering the action can be like opening Pandora's box, you'll lose volume and if your fret board is uneven in places you'll discover fret buzzes.
